The best time for corporate golf in Lithuania
Last updated: March 25, 2026
People always ask me when to come. The short answer: May through September. But each month has a different personality, and picking the right one can make or break your event.
Here's what I tell every client who's planning a corporate golf day at Capitals Golf Club.
May -- the quiet opener
The course wakes up in May. Everything is green and fresh, the fairways are in pristine shape, and the rough hasn't had time to grow teeth yet.
Weather? Honest answer -- it's unpredictable. You'll get days at 15°C where everyone's glad they brought a jacket, and days at 22°C where it feels like summer arrived early. Pack layers. That's the rule.
The upside is huge: fewer visitors, better availability, and lower flight prices from most European cities. If your group doesn't mind a cooler day and wants the course practically to themselves, May is brilliant. Daylight lasts until around 21:30, so there's plenty of time for an afternoon round followed by dinner on the terrace.
June -- the white nights
This is when Lithuania does something magical. The sun doesn't set until after 22:00. You can tee off at 6pm and still finish nine holes in daylight.
Temperatures sit between 18-25°C -- warm enough for shirtsleeves, cool enough that nobody's melting. It's the best month for evening formats like our Nine & Wine, where your group plays nine holes and finishes with wine tasting as the sun finally dips.
One catch. June fills fast. It's the month everyone wants, so if you're bringing 20+ people on a weekend, you'll need to book early. Three months out minimum.
July -- peak season, peak weather
The warmest month. Expect 20-27°C, long days, and the course at its most lush. July is your best bet for full-day tournaments where you want to guarantee good weather.
It's also the busiest month. But "busy" in Lithuania isn't busy by European standards -- you won't find yourself queuing behind four groups at the first tee. It just means you should book your preferred tee times a bit earlier than usual.
One thing to watch: afternoon thunderstorms. They roll in fast, pour for 20 minutes, and disappear. We've run hundreds of events through Lithuanian summers, and they've never ruined a day. We just move people to the clubhouse for a drink, wait it out, and carry on.
August -- the sweet spot
Still warm. Still long days. But slightly less competition for bookings than July, because half of Europe is on holiday somewhere else.
August is when the evenings start getting that golden quality -- lower sun, warmer light, the kind of thing that makes your event photos look incredible without any filters. It's also when the course is at peak condition, having had the full summer to mature.
If July weekends are taken, look at August. You'll get essentially the same experience with more flexibility on dates.
September -- the insider's choice
This is my personal favourite, and I'm not shy about saying it.
September in Lithuania is warm enough (14-22°C), the light is extraordinary, and the forest around the course starts turning. Golds, reds, deep greens against the fairways. It's genuinely beautiful. Your group will notice.
Almost no other groups on the course. Flights are cheaper. The clubhouse staff aren't rushed. Everything feels a bit more relaxed, a bit more personal. If you're planning a client entertainment event where the atmosphere matters as much as the golf, September is hard to beat.
Prices tend to be lower too. Some vendors offer end-of-season rates, and accommodation around the area drops noticeably.
The shoulder months are underrated
I'll say it plainly: May and September don't get enough love. Most people default to June or July because that's what feels safe. And those are great months -- no argument.
But the shoulder months give you cheaper flights, wider availability, an emptier course, and often better deals on everything from catering to accommodation. The only trade-off is slightly cooler weather and a small chance of rain. For a corporate group that's coming for the experience rather than a tan, that trade-off is worth it.
What about winter?
The course closes from November through April. Lithuania gets real winters -- snow, ice, the whole thing. No amount of enthusiasm will get you a round in January.
Use the off-season to plan. The best summer dates go early, especially for larger groups. If you reach out in January or February, you'll have your pick of weekends. Wait until April and you might be squeezing into whatever's left.
When to book
Here's what I recommend based on group size:
- Small groups (up to 12) -- 4-6 weeks ahead is usually fine, even in peak summer.
- Medium groups (12-24) -- 6-8 weeks minimum. For June/July weekends, push that to 3 months.
- Large groups (24+) -- 3 months ahead, no exceptions. We need to coordinate tee times, catering, and often transport.
If you're flexible on the specific date, tell us your preferred month and we'll find the best available window. Weekdays are always easier to book than weekends, and Tuesdays through Thursdays are often the quietest.
Not sure which month works for your team? Drop us a note with your rough dates and group size. We'll tell you what's available and what to expect weather-wise. No commitment needed -- just a straight answer.
