France to Lithuania

Your next corporate golf event doesn't have to be in the south of France

France has 740 golf courses and 440,000 licensed players. You know golf. What you might not know is that Lithuania offers championship-quality golf with no crowds, at prices that make even French green fees look expensive -- and it's under 3 hours from Paris.

The comparison

Same quality. Different price tag.

French corporate golf typically means one of two options: a course in Île-de-France at premium Paris-area prices, or a trip south to Biarritz, the Côte d'Azur, or across the border to Spain. The first option is convenient but expensive. The second involves flights and hotels regardless -- so why default to destinations everyone's already been to?

Lithuania changes the calculation. Capitals Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course on 140 hectares of protected natural landscape. It was voted "Best New International Project" by US GOLF INK in 2008. The terrain is morainic -- rolling hills, ancient forests, elevation changes that keep every hole interesting. It's a genuine championship experience, not a resort course with a fancy name.

The price difference is dramatic. A full corporate golf day in Lithuania -- green fees, coaching, catering, event coordination -- costs EUR 100-200 per person. At a top Paris-region course, you'd spend that on green fees alone before you've ordered a sandwich. Factor in hotels, restaurants, and transfers, and Lithuania comes in at roughly 40-60% less than an equivalent French event.

And the part that surprises French groups most: the food. Lithuania's restaurant scene has quietly become one of the best-value dining experiences in Europe. Fresh, seasonal, locally sourced -- and a 3-course dinner costs EUR 25-40 per person. You'd pay that for a main course in central Paris.

France vs Lithuania per person

Green fee (18 holes) EUR 65 EUR 80-180
4-star hotel EUR 70-100 EUR 150-300
3-course dinner EUR 25-40 EUR 50-90
Airport transfer Included EUR 40-70

French prices based on premium courses in Île-de-France and Côte d'Azur.

En résumé

A 2-day trip to Lithuania -- flights, hotel, golf, and dinner included -- costs about the same as a 1-day event at a premium French course.

Getting there

Paris to Vilnius: under 3 hours

Direct flights from Paris. Connections from Lyon, Nice, Marseille, Toulouse, and other French cities via Warsaw, Frankfurt, or Riga.

Paris CDG & Beauvais

2h 45m direct

Wizz Air flies direct to Vilnius from Paris Beauvais. Air France and LOT connect via their hubs. Multiple daily options. Budget flights from EUR 30-80 one-way if booked early.

Lyon (LYS)

3h 30m via connection

One stop via Warsaw (LOT) or Frankfurt (Lufthansa). Total travel time under 4 hours. Good option for Rhône-Alpes and Auvergne-based companies.

Nice, Marseille, Toulouse

4h via connection

Connect through Paris, Frankfurt, or Warsaw. Slightly longer but still a half-day of travel for a destination nobody in your group has visited before.

The alternative

Everyone's been to Spain. Nobody's been to Lithuania. That's the point.

The surprise factor

Corporate events are supposed to be memorable. Another trip to Marbella won't make anyone's highlight reel. Lithuania is genuinely unexpected -- a new destination, a new experience, and a story your guests will actually tell people about.

Summer comfort

Playing golf in 35°C heat in southern Spain or the south of France isn't comfortable. Lithuania's summer sits at 20-25°C -- warm enough for shirtsleeves, cool enough to actually enjoy 4-5 hours on a course. Your guests play better and have more fun.

A course to yourselves

French and Spanish courses in summer are packed with tourists and local players. At Capitals Golf Club, you'll often have the course to yourselves. No queuing on the tee, no rushing through holes, no backing up behind slow groups. Just your team, the course, and 140 hectares of nature.

FAQ

Questions from French organisers

How do we get from France to Lithuania?
Paris to Vilnius is about 2 hours 45 minutes with Wizz Air (direct from Beauvais and CDG). Air France connects via their partner network. From other French cities -- Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Toulouse -- you'll connect through Warsaw, Riga, or Frankfurt with a total travel time of 4-5 hours. For groups, we research the best routing from your departure city and coordinate the logistics.
How do French golf prices compare to Lithuania?
A green fee at a good course near Paris or on the Côte d'Azur runs EUR 80-180. At Capitals Golf Club, it's EUR 65 for 18 championship holes. But the real difference is in everything else: a 4-star hotel in Vilnius is EUR 70-100 (try that in Paris), dinner for a group costs a third of what you'd pay in France, and we include transfers, coaching, and event coordination. A full 2-day trip to Lithuania costs roughly the same as a 1-day corporate event at a premium French course.
Do people in Lithuania speak French?
Not widely, no. But English is spoken fluently almost everywhere -- at the golf course, hotels, restaurants, and by our team. Lithuania ranks among the top EU countries for English proficiency. For French-speaking groups that prefer some communication in French, we can arrange a French-speaking guide for Vilnius sightseeing, but the golf event itself runs in English.
What makes Lithuania different from going south to Spain or Portugal?
Spain and Portugal are the default for French golfers -- everyone's been. That's exactly the problem for a corporate event: there's no surprise factor. Lithuania offers something genuinely new. The course quality matches the Algarve or Costa del Sol. The prices are lower. The crowds are nonexistent. And your guests get a destination story they haven't heard before. For summer events, Lithuania's 20-25°C is also more comfortable than 38°C in southern Spain.
